RETURNING to the Assembly Hall on Sunday 25th February is the Melksham Record Fair, which has now become a quarterly event (when availability allows!) due to its popularity.
“The ‘vinyl resurgence’ is something we hear about a lot these days, with the format that once looked to be becoming a thing of the past now once again filling racks in chain stores, says the deputy facilities manager, Kevin Farrow. “A whole new generation of young collectors are preferring the weight of a record and the gentle drop of a needle to the reductive, soulless convenience of streaming.
“To many music lovers, of course, vinyl never went away and has remained a lifelong passion.
“At Melksham Record Fair, sellers from across the south-west cater for all tastes, with thousands of records from pristine first issues to battered old classics.
“Whether you’re after mint-condition Iron Maiden picture discs or that one Bob Dylan album that your collection has always been missing, or even a brand-new copy of Taylor Swift’s latest album, you may well find it here.
“Entry is free too, so whether a seasoned collector or a casual newbie, it’s always worth a visit. Plus, the bar will be open, so you can enjoy a pint and a chat about your purchases with like-minded music lovers.”
The event will run from 10am to 4pm.
