RESIDENTS near Snowberry Lane are outraged at the state of a supposedly completed footpath.
The public footpath that runs from Snowberry Lane to Clackers Brook near Primrose Drive has been described as dangerous, unfinished and not fit for purpose
They say that a power cable has been left exposed with parts of the protection worn away and fences have been left uncut, including a barbed wire fence. Local resident Stephen Colbert said, “The footpath is a very poor piece of work and if this has been signed off by Wiltshire Council as completed, then I am afraid someone is therefore drawing a wage under false pretences. The power cable runs the length above ground along the footpath and in parts, the armoured protection has been damaged. If this is live it is a disaster waiting to happen.”
Stephen said he contacted Wiltshire Council and Melksham Town Council but received no reply.
Wiltshire Council has been contacted regarding the complaints about the footpath by the Melksham News but received no response at the time of going to print
