“It was pleasing to see many of our members having a really good fun afternoon at our Monday activity event on the first Monday of the month at the Forest Community Centre at 1.30pm,” says organiser Brian Warwick.
“We hope to see more Melksham Seniors coming along on the 7th September at 1.30pm. Community Transport can be ordered via Melksham Tourist Information Centre
“The next meeting of the film club on the 21st Septembers will coincide with a short AGM of your Senior Forum to elect officers for 2015/6 and to approve the accounts, We still need one further nominations of members for the committee.
“We have received two nominations for the appointment as the Older People’s Champion for Melksham which then requires approval and ratification by the area board.
“Please let me know asap if you are prepared to serve on the seniors committee or wish to be considered for the post of our Older People’s Champion.
“Admission to the AGM and the film on 21st September will on this occasion be free, thanks mainly to the courtesy of a donation from Medvivo who provides a careline and telecare support service, enabling individual to remain safe in their own home for as long as possible. The film chosen by members is the much requested fun classic “ The Full Monty”, which many members say they want to see again.
“The film on Wednesday 28th October is the hilarious film with Helen Mirren “The Hundred Foot Journey.” A story centred on an Indian family who moves to France and opens a restaurant across the street from a Michelin-starred French restaurant.
“There is great deal still in the pipeline to discuss around our winter and Christmas programme, so do make a special effort to come along on the 21st September at 1.15pm at Melksham Assembly Hall, do put a special note in your diaries. Remember the Senior Forum 55+ is run by seniors for seniors for your enjoyment and to help improve our quality of life, so let’s have your support
