ARTWORK by a year 13 Melksham Oak student, has been selected for exhibition at the Royal Society of British Artists’ (RBA) annual show at the Mall Galleries in London next year.
AS student Tyler Pattenden’s ceramic piece ‘Escape/Restraint’ will be featured in the exhibition which will take place between 5th and 15th March 2014. Tyler was initially selected for consideration by the National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) and his work has now been selected by the RBA for exhibition.
The school says, “NADFAS tirelessly support our students and have supported Melksham Oak in providing students with this opportunity and also other aspects of the AS/A2 courses, including the popular life drawing sessions.
“This is the first time that a Melksham artist has been selected to exhibit in this prestigious exhibition. This year 42 societies submitted 277 art works from 62 schools. You can view all the works chosen by the RBA via: www.flickr.com/photos/106140846@N07/sets/72157636799807324
“Melksham Oak would like to congratulate Tyler for his outstanding achievements and it’s hoped to take students to the exhibition.”
