ALOERIC Primary School held their swimming gala and the winning team was presented wit the inter-house trophy by Melksham’s British swimming star Rachel Williams.
The competition was held at Melksham Blue Pool and was contested between the three houses William, Harold and Aloeric and included year’s three to six – with Aloeric emerging as the winners.
Rachel Williams who recently competed at the British Swimming Championships returned to help the school she used to attend, and also presented the trophy afterwards.
Tracey Dodge from Aloeric School who is also part of Melksham Swimming Club organised the gala and deemed it a success. She said, “Everyone did really well and can be proud of their efforts. It was great to see so many of them enjoying the event and to have Rachel here topped it off.”
Rachel Williams said, “All the children did really well and it was good to come back and help at the school that I used to attend. When I was at the school these events brought out the best in everyone and some went on to do well in sport, so they are a good opportunity.”
