A Melksham-wide “Elf Hunt” trail was organised by staff and the parent teacher association at The Manor Primary School. The trail gave families a festive way of getting outside during this Christmas period.
Families took part by purchasing a map from the school which was filled out with the names of each hand-made elf they could find around the town.
After all completed maps were returned, they were be entered into a prize draw for a Christmas hamper, and there was also be a vote online for ‘best dressed elf’. The money raised by the event will be used for the school’s children’s Christmas parties.
Hannah Gordon, principal at The Manor C of E Primary School said, “It was lovely to see so many families out and about taking the opportunity to get active whilst having some fun!”
“The children have been really buzzing about the event and we hope to make it even bigger next year by involving local businesses.”
The event ran until Monday 14th December, when the elves had to return to their homes in lapland.
