Melksham Without Parish Council has moved to their new home at the new Campus building.
The council’s base was previously in Melksham Market Place and for the past few years, they have been housed at Bowerhill Sports Pavilion. Now, the council returns to the town in their brand new facilities at the Campus.
Cllr David Pafford, vice chair, said, “We see a real benefit to the residents of the parish being able to pop into the council office with a query or for further information whilst they are already in the building taking back a library book or following a visit to the gym. Likewise, any residents attending a council meeting may wish to find out more about the Campus facilities if they have not visited before or tie in with an exercise class or swim.
“We have new purpose-built, modern facilities for the staff to work in, for councillors to meet in, and for the members of the public to participate. We should be more accessible by public transport now, with plenty of parking available too.
“We have one last council meeting in the diary for the summer, which is still scheduled to be held at Melksham Rugby Club on Monday 15th August, and then all council meetings (unless otherwise advertised) will be held at the Campus from Monday 5th September. Council meetings start at 7pm, are usually on a Monday evening, and we can be found on the first floor, use the stairs/lift to the right of the Reception area.
“The council office is also on the first floor, and is open Monday to Thursday 10 to 12 and 2 to 4pm. Agendas are published on the council website and in noticeboards in the villages in the parish, and on a new noticeboard in the Campus lobby.”
