Melksham Town Council has appointed Clare Harris as deputy town clerk.
Clare has been employed by Calne Town Council since 2000 where she has fulfilled a variety of roles including information officer; planning and events officer; and most recently, assistant to the town clerk.
“The standard of applicants was extraordinarily high,” commented town clerk, Steve Gray, “and we are delighted to have appointed Clare to the role.
“She has a wealth of experience in local government and I’m sure that she will prove to be a great asset to Melksham Town Council. This is an exciting and challenging time for Melksham and we look forward to Clare’s involvement as a key member of the staff team based at the Town Hall.”
