A NEW girls’ rugby ‘hub’ has been launched at Melksham Rugby Club.
The first session kicked-off this month, with a total of 24 girls, aged from 7 to 16 years, in attendance.
On behalf of the club, Lewie Simmons reports, “With lots of fun to be had and plenty of sessions planned, the girls’ hub will continue every other Friday from 6pm-7pm. The next session will be on 27th May.
“The girls’ rugby hub will be looking to offer a way into a new sport for girls, in an enjoyable and safe space, with top coaches and facilities. Specialist coaches will be coming down to the girls’ rugby hub throughout the summer to offer their experience and knowledge, in a fun environment for girls to try something new.
“The sessions are completely free of charge, and the clubhouse will be open for refreshments for parents/carers as the sessions are under way. It is a great opportunity for girls to try something new and develop team working skills, as well as a chance to burn off some energy through the summer months. It will be a chance to meet new people and make new friends and even pick up a new passion.”
