A NEW support group for people living with and affected by dementia has launched at Blenheim House Care Home.
‘The Memory Cafe’ is held on the first and third Thursday of every month, and is open to anyone in the community, including family members, carers and other support groups.
The first session was held last week and attendees enjoyed a number of activities including a ukulele performer, arts and crafts, poetry and a free lunch.
Events manager at the home, Chris Guest said, “The Memory Cafe is our way of offering support to those in Melksham and the wider community who come into contact with dementia.
“We meet on the first and third Thursday of every month, offer free refreshments and entertainment and it really is a fantastic morning to support anyone with dementia, their carers and their families.”
Anyone who would like to attend are welcome to drop in, or alternatively they can contact the Blenheim House reception team ahead on 01225 896200 to book a place if any special needs should be considered.
