THE new play area in King George V playing field will be temporarily closed next week to allow for improvement works.
The new play area, located next to the splashpad near the pavilion building, opened two weeks ago. However, improvements need to be made to its pathway.
The town council said, “As some of our local residents may have noticed, the pathway running through the new play area in King George V playing field has not fared well during its first couple of weeks.
“After discussions with the building contractor, we have booked the installation of a more suitable and durable pathway which will be a vast improvement on the current glitches we are experiencing.
“Unfortunately this means we will have to close the play area from Tuesday 6th April through to Friday 10th April, inclusively.
“Thank you for bearing with us as we improve this new amenity and we look forward to welcoming you back to the new play area on Saturday 11th April.”
