President of Shaw & Whitley WI, Lynne Salter, has stepped down from the role after eight very successful years.
Members attending the Annual General Meeting at the Shaw Village Hall showed their gratitude to Lynne for her dedication, humour and kindness.
Lynne outlined some of the memorable events the WI had organised and taken part in during her tenure. The club secretary then gave an account of the events held in the year, as well as special WI centenary celebrations at which we were represented, including the garden party at Buckingham Palace, and assisting to pass the centenary baton from Wiltshire to Berkshire on its journey around the British Isles.
The evening concluded with social activities and a presentation of flowers to the outgoing President.
The Shaw and Whitley WI meet at the village hall on the second Monday of the month at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome to the next meeting, when Sylvia Bennett takes over the reins as President.
