Kavanaghs are delighted to be instructed by Guildhall Estates to market the new retail units at the East Melksham Local Centre.
Guildhall Estates is developing the neighbourhood centre which is situated on the eastern edge of Melksham, approximately one mile from the town centre. The new development occupies a prominent position immediately adjacent to the new link road / Melksham eastern bypass.
The Local Centre will form part of a wider development area which will provide 771 new homes and a primary school, with dual use community facilities. Around 700 homes are already occupied, with the remainder due to be finished and ready for occupation by summer 2015. Construction of the school has commenced with a planned opening date of September 2015.
The Local Centre development will comprise a mixed use scheme anchored by a Morrisons M-Local Convenience Store extending to 4,300 sq ft, a Marston’s family pub / restaurant, five retail units with apartments above, and good customer car parking.
The retail units will be finished to a developers shell specification with capped services and glazed frontages. Construction of the retail units is due to commence in the first quarter of 2015, with practical completion in January 2016.
Alison Williams, associate director at Kavanaghs commercial commented, “This is a great location for a local neighbourhood centre and will provide an excellent facility to service the newly developed primary school and extensive nearby local housing developments.
“A pre-let to a food outlet has already been agreed on one of the retail units, and we are already receiving a good level of enquiries from a range of retail operators such as hairdressers and beauty salons, betting shops, letting and estate agents, charities and other food outlets.”
Should you require further information on the development and availability of the retail units or other properties in and around the Wiltshire area, please do not hesitate to contact Alison Williams at Kavanaghs on 703082.
