BUS stops in Melksham are changing again from Sunday 23rd February due the change in the temporary one-way traffic system across the river bridge.
From this date, for approximately eight weeks, traffic will only be able to cross the bridge when heading into Melksham, instead of when they are leaving the town.
This means that most buses will need to pick up at different locations in Melksham town centre. These bus stops are different to the previous temporary arrangements.
– Service 14 to Asda, Roundponds, Beanacre Road and Addison Road will pick up at temporary bus stop B on Spa Road in the town centre.
– Service 14 to Melksham Forest and Queensway will pick up at its normal town centre stop on Lowbourne, near the Library and Buds Bar.
– Service 15 to Berryfields, Western Way and Skylark Road will pick up as normal at Sainsburys, then outside The Bear and at the Kings Arms bus shelter in the town centre (opposite Lloyds Bank).
– X34 to Chippenham will pick up at temporary bus stop A on Spa Road in the town centre.
– Service X34 to Trowbridge and Frome and “Zig Zag” services 68, 69 and X69 to Trowbridge/Bradford/Corsham will pick up at the Kings Arms bus shelter, opposite Lloyds Bank in the town centre.
–Services X72 and D3 to Bowerhill, Devizes and Urchfont will pick up as normal at the Kings Arms bus shelter in the town centre.
– Services X72 and D3 to Bath on weekdays and Saturdays before 7pm, buses to Bath will pick up at temporary bus stop B on Spa Road in the town centre. At night, after 7pm, and all day on Sundays, buses to Bath will pick up at the Kings Arms bus shelter, opposite Lloyds Bank in the town centre.
– Service X76 to Calne and Marlborough will pick up as normal opposite The Bear and on Lowbourne near the Library in the town centre.
– College bus X2 to Lackham and school bus to St. Laurence School will pick up at temporary bus stop B on Spa Road in the town centre.
