A date for your diary – Tuesday 6th September. This is when ‘Open House’ at Queensway Chapel recommences after a summer break.
What is ‘Open House’? Friendship. It’s amazing how many people come in and find friends from the past already there. Others come alone and soon make friends.
Interest. Sometimes there is a short talk – either with speakers connected to the church or others speaking about concerns like home security.
Challenge. Many enjoy the weekly anagram or the word search and sometimes there is a quiz.
Trips. There are usually two trips a year with Weymouth and Weston being among the most popular destinations.
Food. There is the possibility of a three course meal – it’s your choice. Soup of the day from 11.50am, followed by a choice of main courses from noon and then ice cream or even something more elaborate. As all of the work is done by volunteers the cost of food can be kept very low so you can eat well for less than £3 and not much more if you have all the options.
When? Most Tuesdays of the year from 10am until 1.15pm. Where? In Queensway Chapel. The entrances are on Pembroke Road just off Queensway. Contact. The number to ring on Tuesdays from 6th September is 01225 700161.
