A new boules court has been opened in the St Barnabas Cricket Field in Beanacre.
“We’ve all played boules on the beach with plastic balls, but Sunday 1st August saw the official opening of the boules court adjacent to the play area in the St Barnabas Cricket Field in Beanacre,” said Stanford Cole.
“Boules can now be played on a proper surface on an international size court in Melksham!
“The court has been three years in the planning and construction by the church and is now finished – apart from the construction of a barbeque – and is available for anyone to use at any time free of charge.
“A good crowd of people ranging from four to 85 years old attended the opening and enjoyed a master class from boules experts, who gave tuition, hints and tips on how to play and score boules.”
Access to the boules court is via the play area five bar metal gate or from the main entrance path to St Barnabas Church.
