LOWBOURNE Osteopaths are celebrating their 20th anniversary in Melksham.
Louise Hull runs the business with her husband Caspar offering a wide range of treatments of allmusculoskeletal disorders and back, neck and joint pain to people of all ages, along with working alongside complementary therapists providing acupuncture, homeopathy, counselling and reflexology.
“It is hard to believe that we have been in Melksham for 20 years,” said Louise.
“Within that time we have been delighted to meet and treat a wide variety of people from Melksham and the surrounding areas, from the tiniest babies to those in their older years.
“Looking back over the 20 years much has changed at Lowbourne Osteopaths. From small beginnings we were able to expand into the clinic we are in today by the park on Lowbourne. We now have four osteopaths available and we also offer acupuncture, reflexology, massage therapy and counselling.
“All our osteopaths have undergone extensive additional training in cranial osteopathy, enabling us to treat more complex cases such as unsettled babies and people with headaches; many of whom have been referred by health visitors, midwives and GPs.”
Louise was also able to use her skills volunteering to treat children with disabilities at Stepping Stones Opportunity group in Trowbridge. And with continued training, Caspar has furthered his career and now assesses the clinical competence of new osteopaths applying for osteopathic registration, at Keele and Staffordshire Universities.
Louise and another of their osteopaths, Mary, teach in post graduate education for osteopaths in addition to their work in the clinic.
“Mary is also involved in osteopathy for horses and riders and has recently attended to the UK Olympic dressage team, added Louise. “Caspar and Mary have great experience in treating riders throughout their years of osteopathic work.
“During the last 20 years we have enjoyed a great relationship with many patients and organisations. We have treated a range of problems, from those with sports injuries at local rugby and football clubs and the Wiltshire School of Gymnastics, to assisting women through their pregnancy and babies with muscular skeletal problems.
“Some of our young patients are now bringing their own children in to see us! We are pleased to be able to support our patients throughout their lives, keeping them well and mobile into old age.
“Thank you to all of our patients who have supported us over the years and we look forward to caring for you in the future. To celebrate 20 years in Melksham we are offering a 10% discount off one treatment during November 2014.”
