OVER £9,500 was given out to local groups at last month’s Melksham Area Board to support their work in the community.
A total of £9,670.40 was agreed upon by the area board, which was shared between seven local organisations.
• Bowerhill Village Hall Trust received £1,326 to install a projector and sound system.
• Melksham Riverside Club requested £2,600 for the renewal of its heating system but was granted £1,500.
• The Wiltshire School of Gymnastics received £2,929 for training aids and vinyl flooring.
• Devizes and District Opportunity Centre will receive £1,500 for an outdoor play shelter if Devizes Area Board agree the same.
• Golden Fleece Cricket Club received £500 for an outdoor seating area.
• Melksham Skills Centre was awarded £865.40 for safe play.
• Wiltshire Mind was given £300 for a new laptop and finally Seend Lye Recreation Field was given £750 for play equipment.
Community area grants are open to local clubs, groups, organisations and charities looking to make a difference in the community.
