A HOUSE on The Spa in Melksham could be knocked down to make way for 19 new homes.
Housing developer Landmark Estates, based in London, has applied to build a block of eight flats and 11 detached bungalows in place of 398A The Spa and its garden. The development would take place on land off The Spa, a small road east of the roundabout where Spa Road meets Bath Road.
Melksham Without Parish Council has objected on the grounds that the land is outside of development limits and would affect the ‘historic setting’ of nearby houses.
Melksham Town Council raised no objections.
The public are invited to comment until this Friday, 18th November. A decision is expected by 4th January. To see the plans or comment use reference 16/09712/ FUL at www.wiltshire.gov.uk
