WILTSHIRE Police report that during April there have been a number of thefts in Melksham.
PCSO 6158 Rose Baldock said, “We have received reports of three sheds being broken into, with two bicycles stolen.
“On Monday 27th April between 6.00pm and 13.30 on the 28th a shed was broken into in Warwick Crescent. The shed door was unscrewed off. Nothing was taken.
“On the 29th April between 5.00pm and 08.00 on 30th April in Union Street, a locked bike was stolen from a back yard; the lock was cut off. TVO £350.00. The bike in question was a black subway carrera-hybrid.
“On the 29th April between 18.00 and 09.00 on the 30th there was another incident in Bath Road; nothing was taken.
“On 30th April between 22.15 and 07.00 on the 1st May a shed was broken into at Roundponds. Suspects entered the garden removed the hinges from the shed then stole a mountain bike. TVO £300.00
“Please can residents be mindful what they keep in their sheds and make sure they are secured properly.”
