POLICE are tackling reports of anti-social behaviour involving youths in Melksham.
In early December, Police reported that they had received a number of reports of youths throwing eggs at houses and vehicles throughout the town.
“No damage has been caused yet, but it’s causing some alarm to those who’ve been targeted,” said police.
“We’re asking that parents are mindful of what their children are getting up to; also for shopkeepers to consider whether or not they sell eggs to under 18s.”
Updating local Wiltshire Councillors at a recent meeting of the Melksham Area Board, inspector Jill Hughes explained that through enquiries and CCTV, the main parties involved had been identified and that police were exploring the use of “early interventions” and issuing “Community Protection Notices”.
