PC Fulbrook-smith of Melksham Neighbourhood Policing Team is appealing for witnesses to come forward to assist with a series of criminal damage to motor vehicles between Friday 6th and Monday 9th March.
To date 16 vehicles have been vandalised in the Scotland Road, Granville Road and predominantly Portman Road area during this period.
Vehicles have had tyres slashed, wing mirrors broken, bodywork scratched and untidy searches of insecure vehicles.
The individuals responsible for these acts of vandalism have purposely gone out of their way to venture on to driveways, in some cases whilst other vehicles were parked on the roadside.
PC Fulbrook-Smith said, “This kind of behaviour causes unnecessary distress, inconvenience to the owners and unwarranted repair costs that runs into hundreds of pounds.
“Melksham NPT will be stepping up patrols in the area to provide reassurance and gather any additional information to move this investigation forward. Lets work together to make those responsible accountable for their pointless and mindless behaviour.”
Any information can be reported directly to PC 1740 Fulbrook-Smith on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
