MELKSHAM Neighbourhood Policing Team have made significant steps towards making an arrest for criminal damage after a public appeal in the Melksham News.
Recently the town was hit by a spate of graffiti which left several buildings including Tops Hair Salon, Co-Operative travel and Lloyds bank covered in black spray paint. More was also found on a pillar by the entrance to Place Road which has yet to be removed.
Melksham community beat manager Kane Fulbrook-Smith appealed for information in the last issue of the Melksham News and it appears that the public’s help has led to significant steps in the investigation. PC Fulbrook-Smith said, “I would like to thank the whole community for showing us their support in our investigation to find whoever is responsible for the graffiti in the town centre.
“Thanks to information received, we are confident we have identified the person responsible and will be looking to make an arrest shortly. In all investigations we rely heavily on the public coming forward and sharing information and we appreciate the help we have received.
“However, the investigation is still ongoing and we will still listen to any new information, so if anyone has any information for us, then I urge them to get in touch by contacting Wiltshire Police on 101.”
