THERE’S non-stop entertainment at Melksham Assembly Hall in the coming weeks.
This Saturday 2nd March, Purple Zeppelin – The Ultimate Rock Tribute Show come to the Assembly Hall.
Promoters say, “Purple Zeppelin are proud to pay tribute to the two greatest Rock Bands of all time – Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin – together on the same bill.
“In a ‘full on’ two and a half hour show, using the same stage costumes, guitars and equipment as the original bands, you’ll hear more than 30 classic songs. Basically … the best bits, all of the time.
“However, this is more than just a great band performing the ‘Greatest Hits’ – it’s a theatrical insight to these two giants of rock, complete with special effects, onstage ‘artistic differences’ and even some audience participation!
“With the accent firmly on entertainment, this is a show not to be missed, complete with Richie Blackmore’s onstage antics, Jimmy Page’s twin neck guitar and Theremin and a very special violin bow solo.
“Purple Zeppelin are four talented and versatile musicians with decades of playing between them comprising thousands of sessions and gigs, both in the UK and overseas.”
Tickets £20.
On Friday 8th March, American comedian Rich Hall – who is best known for his many TV appearances on shows such as ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘QI’ – brings his critically-acclaimed new show, ‘Rich Hall’s Hoedown’ to Melksham.
More recently, his BBC Four documentaries – ‘Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You’ and ‘Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match’ – and his BBC Radio 4 series ‘Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown’, have built him a new legion of followers.
Promoters say, “The Hoedown begins as a withering dissection of Trump’s America, but ends up being a celebration of Americana. There’s stand-up, improvised ballads, cracking good musicianship, and ultimately a hilarious, foot-stomping, good time to be had by all. Even if you don’t own a hoe.”
Tickets cost £17.
On Thursday 14th March, join Neil Sands for his biggest ever matinee show, ‘Sentimental Journey’. Promoters promise, “More singers, more stunning costumes, more memories and even more fun, as Neil takes you for a ‘Sentimental Journey’ back through the fabulous 40s, the rocking 50s, the swinging 60s and the sensational 70s.
