The churches of Atworth, Shaw and Whitley are holding a Fish and Chip supper with quiz evening at Shaw School Hall on Saturday 31st January
This event is being held to raise additional funds to help purchase bicycles for church workers in Sudan to travel around more easily.
Organiser Dianne Briggs said, “All are welcome to come along and join us – why not make up a team of friends and family for an enjoyable and light-hearted evening out to brighten the gloom of January. The evening starts at 7.00pm and costs just £6 to include supper.
“The idea for the quiz evening is as a result of a challenge to the churches in the Bradford deanery to raise £10,000 before the end of January for our brothers and sisters in our linked diocese of Kadugli in Sudan and South Sudan.
“This is one of the least developed areas in Africa and our churches have decided that the proceeds from this event will be used to buy bicycles (cheaper and more practical than 4x4s!) for church workers in South Sudan.”
