The relaunch of the Monday club for the 55+ group took place on Monday 1st June.
The group meets on the first Monday of the month at the Forest Community Centre 1.30pm until 4.00pm. Terri Welch reports, “The idea that people should get together in a social environment, make new friends and have fun definitely worked.
“It is good to see men coming along on their own, they soon found like-minded folks and were very competitive in the curling game that took place. The new format of the afternoon, mental and physical activity, a sing-a- long, refreshments, a quiz and raffle seemed to be what people are looking for.
“So now the next one is already attracting bookings for the Community bus, it is hoped that the revised format makes the afternoon both accessible and entertaining and more people will come along to join in the fun.”
The next group will meet on Monday 6th July, 1.30pm at the Forest Community Centre. Free transport is provided by the Community bus, but booking is necessary, to book call into the Tourist Information Centre or phone (01225) 707424.
