ST GEORGE’S School in Semington hosted a successful jumble sale earlier this month, raising £805 in the process.
The total represents a personal best for the school after they enjoyed a good turnout throughout the afternoon.
Philippa Wall from St George’s School said, “It was very successful and is thanks to the hard work of the Friends of St. George’s school and all the staff and parents involved.
“We also held a well-attended Harvest Service in St. George’s Church on Thursday 9th October after which the Year 6 children and a number of parent and staff volunteers distributed gifts of produce, brought in to school by the pupils, to the more elderly members of the local community.
“The children did the school proud with their polite behaviour and the way they engaged in conversation with the recipients. We have received many letters and cards of thanks and are pleased that the children have been able to actively live out our school ethos ‘In God’s love we cherish, challenge & inspire’ as they cherished members of the wider community.”
