Since October, the Parent Teacher Association, led by parents Lisa Fudgell and Marie-Anne Amos, has organised a series of successful fundraising events at Bowerhill School, raising a grand total of £2,500.
In place of the usual Christmas and Easter celebrations at the school, the PTA set up online raffles with prizes donated by parents, purchasable themed craft sets for all the children, and a popular Easter trail.
Following the success of these events, the association has almost doubled in size and has already made further plans.
In the May half term, they will host a scarecrow trail around Bowerhill which will be open to the public, and plans are already well underway for the first Bowerhill summer fete in two years in July.
Rachel Skates, Principal at Bowerhill Primary School said, “We’re so lucky to have such an enthusiastic and active parent community. The work of our PTA, and everyone in the school community who took part in events over the past year have really emphasised how fortunate we are!”
