GOLDEN Fleece Cricket Club in Whitley is running its popular ‘Return to Cricket’ pre-season sessions again this year, with training events going on until 17th April.
The club has been running ‘Return to Cricket’ sessions for several years, and the one-hour sessions are open to all ages and sexes and involve some informal coaching and a chance to try or get back to cricket in a friendly non-competitive environment.
Julian Baker, club chairman said, “None of us are great cricketers, but we love the game and this is a chance to get some exercise and loosen up before the season starts. The sessions are overseen by top English Cricket Board coach Ali Goddard, and are suitable for every skill level and ideal for those who haven’t played for years. All the kit is provided and there is a chance to have a bat and a bowl, as well as partake of the catching drills.”
The Golden Fleece plays friendly, non-league matches with other local sides throughout the summer on Wednesday evenings and Sundays.
The Return to Cricket sessions run through to Sunday 17th April with a break for Easter. They start at 7pm at Melksham Oak School and cost £3 per person. For more info contact Julian on 07778 641171 or email julianmarkbaker@gmail.com
