DURING the lockdown, Forest & Sandridge is encouraging the children to maintain links with Brookside and Blenheim House care homes.
“Children have been asked to write letters, cards or draw pictures to give to the residents and place them in our post box at school,” said Deputy Headteacher Helen Biles-Wood. “We are then delivering these to the residential homes on behalf of the children and school.
“In addition to this, we are creating Mental Health Awareness week bunting to go on the school fence to remind members of the community to reach out to others. We are focusing on the rainbow and the hope this brings so all our bunting will be decorated with this in mind.
“Again, all children are encouraged to take part by posting their bunting in the school post box when they go for their exercise. “
