Friends of St George’s School in Semington and DB Max are teaming up, along with the village community, to organise another exciting running event for everyone.
The 10K and 2k circular race starts at St George’s School and offers runners the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque village location next to the canal towpath. This year a 2k event has been introduced, aimed at those younger runners or people starting or getting back into running and looking for a challenge. Children from year 5 upwards can enter and will receive a goody bag and medal at the end. Both the 10k and 2k event will be professionally timed by DB Max. The race will commence at 10am on Saturday 28th April, with the new 2k event starting at 10.15am.
Race organiser John Adams said, “Now in its fourth year, it’s going from strength to strength and we are seeing lots of the same runners, as well as new ones entering each year. We are excited about introducing a 2k race and hope that it will enable keen younger runners to take part in a well-organised timed event.”
Friends of St George’s School say, “We have been very lucky that Coopertires are supporting the event again this year and Places for People will be supporting us on the day.
“The event hopes to raise funds for the school, with money raised over the past few years being used to purchase iPads and other IT equipment, as well as improving the outdoor learning environment.”
