TICKETS are still on sale for the Melksham Seniors’ Christmas party on Monday 16th December, but you’ll have to hurry as the closing date in next Thursday 12th December.
The event runs from 2pm – 4pm at the Assembly Hall and all are welcome. Tickets are £6 and are available at the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street.
The group hosts weekly Thursday morning meetings at the Riverside Club and monthly meetings at the Forest Community Centre.
The group secretary reports, “We are an organisation run by Senior volunteers for the benefit of all residents of Melksham and district area over 55. We need your input and help! Tell us what activities you would like to see offered by the club. What are you interested in? What in your daily life concerns you or do you need help with? Could you spare a few hours a month helping with the groups? We would welcome your help and input. Address and telephone number to apply can be found below.
“Our Socialise ‘n Shop programme is doing well, with new members and new businesses signing up. So, if you would like the benefits of discounts from local shops, please sign up for an ID card. We meet at the Riverside Club every Thursday morning from 10.30am ‘til 12.30pm and have a varied programme of events. Come along and tell us what you would like to do. Forms will be available for you to let us know your suggestions. Refreshments provided.
