MELKSHAM Town Council will be hosting a drop-in session at King George V Playing Field next week, giving the opportunity for the community to share their ideas for the future of the park.
Councillors will be joined by NVB Landscape, who have been appointed to design and oversee the creation of a master plan for the popular local green space. Everyone is invited to stop by the cricket pavilion in the park next Saturday, 24th March, from 11am until 3pm. All thoughts and ideas are welcome, no matter how big or small.
All suggestions will help towards the master plan that will hopefully be revealed next month. It will feature a long-term goal for the park over a time frame of 15 years. The money to complete the full plan is not accessible all at once, so the plans will be utilised as and when funding becomes available.
The town council, as part of their budget for the next financial year, has included the allocation of funds towards the proposed splash pad for the area.
It is estimated that by the summer, there will be a sketched design revealing the main priorities for the park including costs and a detailed phasing plan.
