SPARKLERS, a friendly social group that meets every Monday in Melksham, celebrated its eighth birthday last month with a cream tea.
The group meets from 9.30am to 11.30am at The Baptist Church Hall on Old Broughton Road and welcomes new members.
“We are a support group for each other and encourage each other towards healthy living goals,” says a member of the group, Kay Perry. “We also do gentle exercises to music.
“Most of our members have been with us since we started but we always welcome new members, so if you would like to come along, just come down on a Monday morning at 9.30am.
“We pay £3 every week, which includes refreshments. We financially support the Royal United Hospital Cancer Appeal and Melksham Baptist Church.
“Recently, the group held a chocolate bingo evening to raise funds for RUHX and The Dyson Cancer Centre. “We raised £350. It was a fantastic event,” explained Kay.
