Between 18th and 23rd May there have been seven reported incidents of Catalytic Converter thefts from vehicles in Melksham which have been done during the early hours of the mornings.
Unknown thieves have targeted residential areas of Scotland Road, Addison Road, Foundry Close, Severn Road, Trent Crescent and Eden Grove in Whitley.
PC Fulbrook-Smith from Melksham Neighbourhood Policing Team said, “This is a lucrative crime carried out by the thieves whilst causing inconvenience to the victims who quite often have an expensive repair bill.
“If anyone sees persons acting suspiciously around their vehicles they are advised to call the police 101 or if crime in progress 999.
“Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses or information that could assist with their enquiries to identify the offenders.”
