A Sportsman’s Dinner organised by Melksham Town FC has been hailed a great success.
Melksham Town welcomed some very special guests to Melksham Assembly Hall earlier this month including ex-Arsenal and England player Ray Parlour. In an interview after the event, Ray told the Melksham News, “It was a brilliant evening and the audience were great which always helps make the evening good fun. I really enjoyed the whole evening.
“They raised an excellent amount of money as well which is great for the club. So hopefully the club will continue to grow and will have their own clubhouse in no time at all.
“I’ve heard great things about the lads and the staff at Melksham Town. They have a long journey ahead but they just need to believe in themselves, train hard and have the right attitude on and off the pitch.
“If you have enough desire and you work hard, anything is possible. I see a bright future for the lads and wish them luck for the rest of the season.”
Melksham Town manger Darren Perrin said, “It was an awesome night and the entertainment was fantastic. Everyone had a great evening, I’m really pleased with how it all went, it’s definitely the best one we’ve ever done.”
