MELKSHAM’S first fireworks display for two years, was welcomed by a packed audience, who enjoyed fireworks set to music lighting up the sky, along with stalls, rides, lasers and food and drink.
The display took place at the grounds of Melksham’s rugby and football clubs and was organised by Distant Thunder Fireworks, a company based in Devizes.
Speaking about the success of the event, owner of Distant Thunder Fireworks, Trevor Whichello said, “It was a really good event! It was a pleasure to work from start to finish, we are so pleased with how it went. The parking was smooth, the traffic flow of people was superb and the venue is of course great. The football and rugby club did their bit and looked after people.
“The actual show went off really well. No-one has complained, everyone has been positive. It shone out as a trouble-free evening.”
This year’s firework display marked the first one since the cancellations over the past two years due to the Covid pandemic.
Thanking the community for their support to this year’s display Trevor said, “This year’s display was Melksham’s first one back. It’s a good town with a good community that likes to support events like this. It’s the community that helps to make it so good!”
A member of the audience said, “It was such a spectacular display, so elegantly accompanied by beautiful music, with a huge amount of excitement, colour, noise and sparkle.
“The event was seamlessly organised, so huge thanks to Melksham rugby and football clubs for the venue, to the food and drink vendors for keeping everyone fed, to Danny Toogood’s team for the rides, and of course Distant Thunder Fireworks for the stunning display.”
