A CHANCE for local people to put forward their views on possible routes for a Melksham A350 bypass ends on 30th November.
Wiltshire Council say, “We’re exploring the options available to improve the A350 at Melksham including the potential for case for a new bypass to take the A350 around Melksham, and we’re seeking the views of residents, businesses and other stakeholders on our progress so far, and the various proposed route options.
There are 14 possible routes proposed. Town councillors have expressed the importance of local people looking at the plans and making their views known to Wiltshire Council now.
There will be a special presentation of the emerging A350 Melksham By-pass scheme, hosted by the town council on

At a meeting of the town council’s economic, development & planning committee, councillors agreed to invite a speaker from Wiltshire Council to the special online meeting. Councillors agreed that Steve Wilson had made an excellent presentation to Melksham Area Board recently, which they said clearly explained the possible routes.
The clerk, Linda Roberts, said she was concerned that there were “myths” going round such as a vote for the Neighbourhood Plan “would mean you are voting for the bypass.” She said, “The bypass is not included on the Neighbourhood Plan. Already, stories are developing.”
The survey, along with a Melksham bypass consultation information pack and the possible options are available to download from Wiltshire’s website wiltshire.gov.uk under A350 Melksham Bypass.
