MELKSHAM Town Council has agreed to ringfence £5,000 from the 2019/20 budget to give to the TransWilts Community Rail Partnership as a grant for their continued development of the Melksham Railway Station site.
The ‘letter of intent’ from the council to give the group the money will assist them with their larger grant application to the GWR Customer and Communities Improvement Fund.
The TransWilts masterplan for the railway station includes the provision of a community café, extra parking spaces and a bus interchange.
