Melksham Towns- women’s Guild held their Annual General Meeting in the United Reform Church Room on 9th March.
Normal business was dealt with and orchid plants were presented to two very long-serving committee members, Daphne Crossman and Eileen Roots, who are retiring from the current committee. A very warm welcome was given to two newly-elected committee members, Susan King and Linda Tapliss.
The Chairman, Tricia Hoy, then read a very interesting story written about her late father’s interesting life.
Tea, with home-made cakes was then served and enjoyed, while members sat and reminisced or planned the future and gossiped!
The next Guild meeting will be on Friday 13th April in the United Reform Church Room at 2pm when there will also be a cake stall and a speaker. New members are always welcome.
