TRAIN to Skaville are returning to Melksham to perform their renditions of classic ska and reggae songs from a glorious era in music.
Since the lifting of lockdown, gigs for the band have been sparse as many pubs and venues have temporarily ceased their live music provision. Prior to the pandemic, the band had a full diary and were in the process of recording their first album. It’s hoped the album will now be ready for release in the new year.
This also marks an emotional return to the hall for former Assembly Hall manager, Tim Cross, who says, “I’m really looking forward to playing in Melksham and seeing old friends and colleagues. It’s going to be a great night.”
It will also be the first gig back for the band’s talented sax player, Karen Potter, who has had an enforced layoff. She said, “I can’t wait and am extremely excited to be playing once again.”
The full nine-piece band will be complemented on the night by DJ Smileee J who will be playing northern soul, disco and soul classics, with technical support coming from Serenity Audio and Lightprovider.
Train to Skaville will perform at the Melksham Assembly Hall on Saturday 11th December. Tickets cost £10 in advance, £15 on the door.
Tickets are available from www.melkshamassembly.co.uk/events or the Melksham Assembly Hall Box Office, call 01225 709887.
