VARIOUS roads in Melksham will be temporary closed from the 3rd—10th March between 7am and 7pm.
Wiltshire Council has given notice that an order has been made to close temporarily to all traffic:
a) Ingram Road, Melksham; from its junction with Blackmore Road for a distance of approximately 300 metres in an easterly direction;
b) Pennine Close, Melksham; from its junction with Ingram Close for a distance of approximately 70 metres in a southerly direction;
c) Malvern Close, Melksham; from its junction with Foresters Park Road for its entire length;
d) Chiltern Close, Melksham; from its junction with Forester Park Road for a distance of approximately 55 metres in a westerly direction;
e) Westbury View, Melksham; from its junction with Blackmore Road for a distance of approximately 350 metres in an easterly direction;
f) Cotswold Close, Melksham; from its junction with Westbury View for a distance of approximately 50 metres in a northerly direction;
g) Mendip Close, Melksham; from its junction with Westbury View for a distance of approximately 70 metres in a southerly direction;
h) Brecon Close, Melksham; from its junction with Westbury View for its entire length;
i) Quantock Close. Melksham; from its junction with Westbury View for a distance of approximately 75 metres in a northerly direction.
Wiltshire Council says the closures will be made to enable Eurovia to carry out carriageway micro surfacing and associated maintenance works.
The notice says, “No alternative route is available; access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
“The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
“This Order will come into operation on 03 March 2020 and the closures will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 until 10 March 2020. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
