On winning the toss BMCC had no hesitation in bowling on a damp track.
The wet track had little effect though as the bowl was more intent on swinging rather than seaming.
Munro was first to go with the score on 17, which brought the dangerous Marlon Simon to the crease. He added 27 with Bromley until Simon was out LBW for 13. Bromley was joined by Joseph and together they had added 48 when drinks were taken with the score on 92 off 22.
There was then a complete change around as the bowlers took control, Bromley (32) and Joseph (30) went quickly with the rest of the batting putting up little resistance. Jack Footner 3/23 off 7, Chris Downham 3/8 off 5 , John Wiltshire 1/6 off 4.5 and Alex Tanner 1/3 off 2 ensured Urchfont were all out for 109, losing their last 8 wickets for 17 in 13.5 overs
BMCC, although only chasing 110, were not confident as they were missing three front line batsmen.
It wasn’t the pace of Marlon Simon that proved to be the problem but the nagging length of K. Bills that caused all the problems. Wickets tumbled at steady intervals as all the BMCC batsmen managed to get themselves out to silly shots. Only Steve Rendell (26) and John Wiltshire (41*) reached double figures as BMCC were all out for 106. Bills finished with figures of 4/16 off 12 overs.
