A LOCAL woman is holding a vintage cream tea fundraiser for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) on Thursday 20th June, at Bowerhill Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm.
Angela Crocker is organising the event and raising funds for the charity that has supported her son, Richard, who is 43 years old and living with the disease.
“At the cream tea fundraiser, we will be serving homemade scones with clotted cream and a delicious selection of homemade cakes served with unlimited tea or coffee,” said Angela. “Everyone is welcome! Tickets are £5. To book your place please call me on 07966 333509.”
“As a family, we are committed to raising money for the MNDA. The charity provides funding to improve care and support for people living with motor neurone disease (MND) and their family members.
“It also funds vital research that will lead to a greater understanding and groundbreaking new treatments. They campaign and raise awareness so that the needs of people affected by MND are recognised and addressed by wider society. MND research has been under-funded for many, many years.”
Last year, Angela’s youngest son, Russell, completed a 315-mile sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris and in September, he will be undertaking another challenging cycle ride from London to Amsterdam, covering 335 miles over five days.
