BOWERHILL Residents Action Group (BRAG) organised a community litter pick of the residential area of Bowerhill on Saturday 22nd April.
Approximately 10 residents and 20 members of the Scouts, Cubs, and Beavers attended.
BRAG said, “We pre-mapped three walking routes and 12 specific areas of the residential area to concentrate on, resulting in the collection of approximately 20 large waste bags containing items ranging from broken scooters, to snickers wrappers and everything in between. Sadly, there were also many nitrous oxide canisters, beer bottles, cans and of course many discarded face masks.
“BRAG volunteers sifted out the recycling into four waste sacks and disposed of the remaining general waste in the commercial waste bins at The Pilot.
“BRAG would like to thank all of the community who came along, including; Wiltshire councillor Nick Holder and parish councillor David Pafford for supporting the event, and to the BRAG volunteers Sharon Pike, Amanda Slade and Mark Blackham. A special thanks to Tim Just from Bowerhill Scouts for their excellent work, to The Pilot for allowing us to use their commercial waste bins and to the parish council for the loan of the picking equipment.
“BRAG is planning on holding a similar event for the commercial part of Bowerhill in the near future.”
