WALKING Netball sessions start at Christie Miller this week in a bid to keep people active in a fun, social sport.
The sessions will run from 9.45am to 10.45am on Thursdays, starting this week on 1st December. They are open to people of all ages and abilities, and involve playing netball at a casual, walking pace.
Becca Higgs, sport development officer at Wiltshire Council says, “Walking Netball is suitable for people of all ages and abilities including individuals who have stopped playing due to injury, those who have never played the game or older people looking to increase their activity levels.
“Sessions also provide a great way to socialise with other like-minded individuals and to meet new friends whilst also offering participants the opportunity to be physically active and improve their health and fitness.”
The sessions take place on the indoor courts at Christie Miller Sport Centre and cost £3 per session. People taking part will also be encouraged to the café for a cup of tea afterwards.
