A wildflower area at Shurnhold Fields is due to be created as the town council looks to support ecology and biodiversity in Melksham.
Wessex Water propose to put a wildflower area within the site at Shurnhold Fields and this was welcomed at the full town council meeting on Monday 20th December.
Melksham’s Mayor councillor Simon Crundell said, “This is fantastic work,” and town clerk Linda Roberts said this is part of what the council is trying to achieve in-terms of ecology and biodiversity. “It will not cause any financial implications for the town council,” she said.
The town council will now work with Wessex Water and Melksham Without Parish Council to create the area.
