AFTER more than 20 years in service as part of the NHS, in October 2011 the Wiltshire Air Ambulance became an independent charitable trust with a board of trustees drawn from the local community.
Since that time, the charity has been very busy as it prepares to meet significant challenges in 2015. It is then that the longstanding and fruitful partnership with Wiltshire Constabulary must necessarily come to an end and the charity will be required to meet the full cost of the airborne medical response service from that time on.
Charity Vice Chair Mandy Clarke said, “We have made amazing progress over the past 18 months and as part of our on-going development we now want to enhance the skillset on our board by recruiting two new trustees.
“We already have a very talented group of Wiltshire people involved at board level but would welcome any interest from people with marketing, fundraising or financial backgrounds who live in Wiltshire. We would particularly like to hear from female candidates, as women are currently under-represented on our board, and applicants from the south of the county.”
The board meets monthly in Devizes and all trustees also sit on at least one committee.
