Wiltshire Council is undertaking improvements to the traffic lights at the junction of the A365 and B3353 from 2nd March, and as such, road users can expect delays in the area for around five weeks from this date.
Wiltshire Council say, “The traffic lights at this junction have exceeded their life expectancy and developed significant faults, and as they need to be replaced, the council is also taking the opportunity to make other changes to the junction.
“This comprehensive maintenance plan will see the replacement of all the infrastructure associated with the traffic signals; repairs to the drainage on both the south western and north eastern sides of the A365; and the complete resurfacing of the A365 and B3353 junction and the approaches. The junction will also be remodelled to incorporate a pedestrian phase, which will improve access to the nearby school.
“From the start of these works, the existing traffic signals will be removed and replaced with temporary signals, which may cause some delays. Then, later on in the project while the junction is being resurfaced, both the A365 and B3353 will be closed; though this has been planned to take place during the school Easter holidays to minimise any inconvenience.”
