28 Brownies, five guiding adults and two VIP guests celebrated their pack being 25 years old with a celebratory meal at The Kings Arms, Melksham on Wednesday 6th March.
“On Wednesday 2nd March 1994 Bev Viveash and Lynne Smith opened 1st Melksham Brownies after a ‘suggestion’ from a then Brown Owl, Sue Foreman,” explained Bev Viveash. “After 25 years and many local young girls having the great opportunity of experience of guiding in Melksham we thought it was certainly an occasion worth celebrating.
“The girls had a great evening, enjoying a lovely two course meal, birthday cake and a sweet goody bag to take home as well as laughing at some of the old photos of Brown Owl and Tawny Owl.
“We would like to say a special thank you to our VIP guests, Sue Foreman and the Melksham Mayor, Adrienne Westbrook, who joined us for the evening and to all the staff at The Kings Arms.”
